 Matthew 8:26 - 27 -

 V. 26 - And He said unto them, Why are ye fearful,

O ye of little faith?   Then He arose, an rebuked the winds

and the sea; and there was great calm.  V. 27 - But the men

marveled, saying.  What manner of man is this, that even

the winds and the sea obey Him!

FOOTPRINTS IN THE SAND

One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord. Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky.

In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand. Sometimes there were two sets of footprints, other times there was one only.

This bothered me because I noticed that during the low periods of my life, when I was suffering from anguish, sorrow or defeat, I could see only one set of footprints, so I said to the Lord,

“You promised me Lord,
that if I followed you, you would walk with me always. But I have noticed that during the most trying periods of my life there has only been one set of footprints in the sand.
Why, when I needed you most, have you not been there for me?”

The Lord replied, “The years when you have seen only one set of footprints, my child, is when I carried you.”  Mary Stevenson, 1936

WE ARE SAVED BY GRACE - Eph.2:8-10

Remember Grace is God's goodness and kindness freely extended to the utterly underserving - you and me.  Because of His grace, He offers salvation through Jesus Christ so that we migh have a relationship with Him.  In that relationship, His viewpoint of us has changed.  God, in His Grace...declares we are righteous...claims us as family...provides for us, as co-heirs with Christ, and inheritance...gives us, who were spiritually dead, a new heart and a new spirit...raises us out of the live we used to live into a new life with Him...sets us free from the power of si, satan and self. Obedience and Victory become a reality as we grow in faith and trust.    Eph. 2:8 -10- For by grace are saved through faith; and that not of yourselves:  it is the gift of God:  9. Not of works, lest any man should boast.  10. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.  PRAISE GOD FOR HIS UNENDING GRACE!

JOHN 5: 1 - 17 - THE POOL OF BETHESDA

1 After this there was a feast of the Jews; and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. 2 Now there is at Jerusalem by the sheep market a pool, which is called in the Hebrew tongue Bethesda, having five porches. 3 In these lay a great multitude of impotent folk, of blind, halt, withered, waiting for the moving of the water. 4 For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had. 5 And a certain man was there, which had an infirmity thirty and eight years. 6 When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole? 7 The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me. 8 Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk. 9 And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked: and on the same day was the sabbath. 10 The Jews therefore said unto him that was cured, It is the sabbath day: it is not lawful for thee to carry thy bed. 11 He answered them, He that made me whole, the same said unto me, Take up thy bed, and walk. 12 Then asked they him, What man is that which said unto thee, Take up thy bed, and walk? 13 And he that was healed wist not who it was: for Jesus had conveyed himself away, a multitude being in that place. 14 Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee. 15 The man departed, and told the Jews that it was Jesus, which had made him whole. 16 And therefore did the Jews persecute Jesus, and sought to slay him, because he had done these things on the sabbath day. 17 But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh hitherto, and I work.
